What?!? When did Lucky turn into a ginger? Don’t worry it’s only for this shot. I’m still a proud brunette or whatever I decide on the day. Read on for more about my fantastic necklace and Nivaro’s first Catwa appliers!
Let me start this off by saying this necklace is amazing. The Avery Set from PurpleMoon Creations is available now at The Chapter Four and it is something you just have to see in person. There are five different metal choices (Gold, Copper, Silver, Iron, and Pewter) for L$199 each as well as the fatpack (L$899). Each includes a HUD to change both the larger gems and the smaller ones. It’s one of the best made pieces of jewelry I’ve seen during my time in Second Life. It’s made for the ladies but obviously it will still work for the guys, and I love it. It also includes earrings which I haven’t shown because I couldn’t really make them work with my look. You can see them here on Poulet’s wonderful ad for it. I’ll add a shot of the HUD below so you can see all of the options available. Continue reading
This isn’t a surprise to you, but if you answered mostly A’s in the above quiz, there’s a strong chance you’re a Dramatic Diva.
( I’m in LOVE with this picture. Check it at its full size here. )
Mostly A’s – The Daring Diva
You are the life of the party. Nothing makes you happier than to be in the middle of a crowd, doing your thing, and having a marvelous time. You’re probably a little wild (or maybe you just want to be), a little bit loud, and whether or not everyone loves your wacky antics, no one has ever accused you of being boring.
Fashion is just another form of artistic expression for you. You love bright, bold colours and none of your outfits are complete without some kind of rocking accessory.
If your quiz results were mostly C’s, you might be a Nature Girl.
( Off to flickr with you! )
Mostly C’s – The Nature Girl
For you, dressing to go out is the means to an end. All the fuss of choosing gowns and shoes and jewelry and makeup and (ugh) hair, seems, well, like too much work. You enjoy looking good, but you don’t get excited about it the way other people do. You probably prefer your mesh feet over any shoes on the grid.
However much you enjoy clothing, you enjoy where you’re going even more. You may not accessorize as much as the Daring Diva but you love texture. If something looks soft, lush, and/or comfortable, you probably have it in six colours.
If your quiz results tended to be D’s, you’re probably a Pastel Princess! Hooray!
( A prettier, shinier, BIGGER picture on my flickr. ❤ )
Mostly D’s – The Pastel Princess
You are a hopeless romantic, sweet and caring, with a love of silk and sparkle. Gold, silver, jewels .. you use them to good effect in a way that practically screams “dance with me!”
You love skirts, dresses, and leap at the opportunity to go dancing. You probably own a tiara and at least one pair of fairy wings, even if you never wear them out.
If most of your quiz results were E’s, you’re probably a Regal Lady. 😀
( Mhmm, we’re going to flickr. Your chariot awaits, M’Lady.)
Mostly E’s – The Regal Lady
You are elite. While you may not go to the trouble of going places very often, when you do, the word “spectacular” describes your efforts to perfection. You know the best places to shop and realize that fashion is one of the most subtle forms of name dropping in the world. Not everyone speaks this silent language as well as you, but that doesn’t matter in the slightest.
You know the best places to shop. If your gown isn’t custom, you know the designer personally.
If your quiz results were mostly G’s, you’re very likey a Simple Sophisticate!
( Yep, we’re going to flickr. Hop in! )
Mostly G’s – The Simple Sophisticate
Style is a simple way of saying complicated things and you know this better than most. What sets you apart from the others is your ability to know where you’re going, what you’ll be doing, and dress accordingly. Costume party? Check. Ballroom dancing? Check. Bumming around the house in pj’s? Double check!
You are the owner of a truly magical inventory and everything you wear reflects this. You love fashion, no doubt, and everything you wear is planned before you leave your equally-gorgeous home. You have more clothes than anyone you know.
… there was a young girl who loved fairy tales; they were the first stories she read to herself and the dreams she dreamed at night. Like many girls, she wanted to be a princess, find True Love, and live Happily Ever After.
As she grew older, she learned that the world was not exactly as it seemed in the stories she loved best. It was hard to dream about castles from a 2-bedroom apartment and gallant princes always seemed to be in short supply. She began to write stories instead, creating characters that were like her, but not her, and she made a point of finding happy endings for all of them. It wasn’t ideal but, gosh, she believed in them anyway.
(This picture is even lovelier in higher resolution. Check my flickr, darn you! )
I’ll admit that I had other plans for this post (*gasp!*). It was going to be a cheerful, cheeky introduction to Awesome Breed Creations (ABC) horses where I depicted and discussed everything a curious outsider would want to know. I took pictures. I asked questions. I wore knee boots and jodhpurs and ran at a script count of one without looking like it. Then my friend Draco passed me some horses, these horses, and my well-laid plans flew out the window. Continue reading
Today is a day of firsts for me. In my earlier post, I shared the first tattoo I’ve worn here (that you’ve seen 😉 ) and now, well, have a look!
I’m kind of psyched to be sharing these outfits, as well as these new pictures, with you; I’ve been working harder than ever on this blog, challenging myself to try different things, to accessorize more, and generally add more interest to everything I do. Maybe I’ve never worn a corset before (and that’s saying something as a three-year SL resident) but after some careful consideration as I put these outfits together I’ve come to realize .. I really like them!
And even better? Every outfit piece I’m using in this post (aside from the goooorgeous .:NV . corsets, foil eye makeup from League, and a pair of gacha earrings from The Arcade) has been in my inventory for weeks, months, or in a few cases, years! Maybe you won’t be able to duplicate these outfits exactly (who’d want to do that, anyway?), but the concept of reinventing yourself with what you have is especially helpful this time of year. Working Title: Yesterday’s Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today
First of all, I’m sure you can see why I went with a simpler title but let me explain:
It was always my intention to cover the Tomorrow Today event in installments; it’s the easiest thing in the world to promote a new event because most everyone has heard about it, been waiting for it, and are excited to see fantastic new offerings especially when proceeds are donated to a worthwhile cause. The thing with Second Life, though, is that time is a little skewed. Many things happen on a daily basis and the more time we spend here, the fuller every day seems to be. It’s easy to say “hey, I really love this __________, but I’ll just come back for it later. I won’t forget.”
Sometimes we forget. We’re human. We err.
I was supposed to write this post yesterday under the borderline-creative-and-cheeky title “Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today” but .. again, I’m as human as anyone. I didn’t get to it. Ugh. Continue reading
